The HISD Health Services department has five registered nurses, two licensed vocational nurses and two medical assistances on staff to provide quality medical services to all students and staff on a daily basis.  The educational background and expertise of each nurse is rich and diversified enabling them to provide quality health care at the campus level.

The school nurse has a multi-faceted role within the school setting, one that supports the physical, mental, emotional, and social health of each student and their success in the learning process.
